Red Robin was born Onecimo Quintana on June 8, 1909 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He was a Native American artist, who identified as Zuni and is known for paintings of adobe towns and indigenous subjects. He worked with and exhibited at numerous museums and institutions, and also created works under the Federal Art Project of WPA.

A watercolor of Red Robin's is part of the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum (object number 1979.144.91).
